No bad trips on Salvia

A friend of mine and I decided that the time was right try Salvia. We’d heard enough about it on various radio shows, TV programs and in loads of newspapers and magazines. The simple fact that it was an unknown quantity made it all the more attractive to us. We found a decent supplier of Salvia on the Web and bought a modestly sized portion.

I tried smoking the Salvia first as I have a little more experience in hallucinogenic drugs than my friend. Plus she was, I think, a little scared.

I went into a daydream almost instantly. A strange calm feeling entered me. I thought of the lines from the poem Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep:

“I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush”

And all of these feelings came to me at once. The morning hush, the gentle rain, sunlight on ripened grain. Then, inexplicable, an almighty swift uplifting rush. Uplifting really is the right word, as I felt my self falling quickly upwards.

My friend was sober through all of this and she managed to stop me from doing too much damage to myself as I flailed around on the floor. Strange stuff, this Salvia. Well worth the a try, though!
